When Carl first arrived in America. in 1894, he lived with
Lewis Hermanson in New Sweden Township, Nicollet county, Minnesota.
He was naturalized December 7, 1899 in St. Peter, MN. He attended
Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter in 1899 - 10 March
1900, taking courses to complete high school. Carl courted
Rosetta between 1906 until1908, when they married. He went
to work at the Courtland Creamery May 7, 1907. His work as
a buttermaker, probably contributed to his death of tuberculosis
15 days short of his fifty-first birthday on February 6, 1924,
at the state sanitarium called "Agwa Ching" near
Walker, MN (in Room 5038.) The cause of his death was listed
as Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
Carl's brother Nels lived Minnesota on Lake Vermilion, near
Walker, MN in Cass County. He is buried in Remer, MN, with
no headstone.
